Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health Celebrated National ASC Day with an Open House

CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y., Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hudson Valley Center for Digestive Health (HVCDH) hosted an Open House in celebration of National ASC Day on August 14th. HVCDH hopes that the open house raised people's awareness of the importance of colon cancer screening and about the high-quality, cost-efficient care ASCs provide to patients in the Cortlandt Manor community.
Representatives from HVCDH hosted guests that included: Cathy Montaldo, Executive Director of Colon Cancer Challenge Foundation; Amy Wen and Gayle Williams, representatives from the American Cancer Society. Frank Catalina, Mayor of the City of Peekskill, presented HVCDH with a certificate of commendation recognizing the center medical and administrative staff for their ongoing commitment to eradicating colon cancer. Barbara Prehal from Hudson Valley Chamber of Commerce, Gina Debonis and Deborah Alvarado, representatives from the local Journal News, were also on hand.
"All in all, it was a great event. The staff gave tours of our center and answered GI related questions from our visitors. It was great to have our physicians Drs. David Lin and Eric Teitel on hand as well, to support our colon screening initiatives and meet with community members," said Diane Santiago, HVCDH Business Manager.
The administrative and medical staff at HCVDH takes very seriously the responsibility to help spread the colon cancer awareness message to the Hudson Valley community. The mission of all Physicians Endoscopy partnered centers is to not only bring quality gastroenterological care to our communities, but on a more basic level, to help bring colon cancer awareness to all of the people in the communities that these centers serve.
HVCDH, a state-of-the-art facility in every respect is a joint venture with four local physicians, Hudson Valley Hospital Center and Physicians Endoscopy (PE) and serves over 3,500 patients annually.
